The High Court of Madhya Pradesh is the principal seat of the state's highest court, located in Jabalpur. Established in 1936 as the Nagpur High Court, it was reconstituted as the Madhya Pradesh High Court following the State Reorganisation Act of 1956.
With jurisdiction over the entire state of Madhya Pradesh, the court maintains benches at Indore and Gwalior in addition to its principal seat at Jabalpur â making the city the undisputed Judicial Capital of Madhya Pradesh.
